Lin de Leeuwerk - Children’s book author

My eldest daughter asked me to write a story about her and her best friend, and that’s how ‘Magical adventures in Kyoto’ was born. A series of stories featuring our own daily lives but then in a fairytale setting, with the beautiful city of Kyoto as a backdrop and Japanese culture and folk tales as inspiration. Even if no one will buy these books, it will still be a beautiful memory for my own children. It will also be an example that you can take an idea and sprout it, and make it a reality. Follow your dreams!

Linde Leeuw - Contemporary romance writer

I’m an avid reader myself, going through 2 or 3 books a week. I’m reading to get my mind out of the hustle and bustle of our daily lives and I prefer easy to read, fun, sexy romance stories - there is already enough hard stuff in the world nowadays. Surely, I’m not the only one? ‘Coming home’ is my first sexy novella, and ‘Daisy’s world’ will follow soon.

Help my books travel the world!

I’m an Indie author, meaning that I self publish my books. I am not just the author, but also the PA, the marketing coordinator and the CEO! I have a fabulous team of beta-readers, editors and a talented illustrator, but ultimately it is up to me to sell the book. Therefore, if you enjoy my books, please consider sharing my books with friends, leaving reviews on the online platform where you purchased the book or Goodreads, and support me by interacting or sharing on my Instagram posts. Your support is greatly appreciated!

FINDING BYAKKO
Book 1 in the Magical adventures in Kyoto series

In the historical city of Kyoto, Ames, his sisters, and their friends discover a baby tiger in the small store house in their garden. Could this cub be related to the White Tiger, one of the Mythical Beasts? Together, the children embark on an adventure following mysterious clues, to reunite the baby with his mother.

’Finding Byakko’ is the first book in the ‘Magical Adventures in Kyoto’ trilogy.

‘Finding Byakko’ is available in paperback and ebook.

When you purchase a paperback copy, $1 will be donated to the Tokyo-based charity ‘Playground of Hope.’

As an elementary school teacher, I absolutely loved this story because it was a beautiful story set in Kyoto. The culture is shown throughout the book. I love how it also shows the importance of friendship between siblings and friends. Kids need to see themselves in books and see other cultures in books, and this was a lovely tale to do so.

IN SEARCH OF THE ONI
Book 2 in Magical adventures in Kyoto the series

It is winter in the beautiful city of Kyoto and everyone is enjoying the holidays. Ames and his friend Toki attend karate camp every day, whilst the sisters Astelle and Livi have playdates with their best friends. On one of those playdates in the park, the older sisters visit Kitsune at a shrine.

When he invites them to meditate with him, Astelle receives a frightening vision. It involves her brother… being taken by an oni, a demon.

Could this be a glimpse of the future? An ema tablet given to her suggests it is. Will Astelle and Día be in time to save Ames from being taken? Or will they have to call in the help of the Mythical Beasts once again?

‘In search of the oni’ is the second book in the ‘Magical Adventures in Kyoto’ trilogy.

‘In search of the oni’ is available in paperback and ebook.

A heartwarming story of siblings, friends and adventures in the culturally rich setting of Kyoto, with the occasional touch of humour for any parents reading it. Both my children enjoyed reading this and are already looking forward to the sequels.

Also nice for any third culture kids to read about others growing up in a similar setting.
